Is this book for you?

Written for people at the very start

It’s for you if…

  • You can build basic pages in WordPress, or are learning to
  • You haven’t sold a website yet, or sold one without a clear process
  • You’d rather follow a written plan than piece it together from videos
  • You want to be honest with clients about what you can and can’t do

It’s not for you if…

  • You want a click-by-click Bricks or WordPress software course
  • You’re looking for a promise of clients or income — this book doesn’t make one
  • You already run an established web design business

A page from the 30-Day First Client Challenge
Included in the guide

The 30-Day First Client Challenge

A day-by-day plan that turns the chapters into concrete outputs, with a checkpoint at the end of each week. Its aim is to put you in a position to find a suitable first client — not to guarantee one by day 30.

  • Week 1 — Build a credible demonstration
  • Week 2 — Prepare a service you can deliver
  • Week 3 — Start appropriate conversations
  • Week 4 — Move suitable work towards an agreement

Take longer when your skills or schedule need it. The outputs matter more than a perfect streak.

A note before you buy

“When I developed the ideas behind this book, I had not yet closed my own website clients. Contacting and selling felt less familiar than building. You deserve to know that before reading any business advice here.”

That’s why the book labels its advice: what comes from the author’s own experience, what is a plan to test, and what is researched guidance with numbered sources. Fictional examples and illustrative prices are marked as such.
